NYE

Ah tomorrow is New Year's Eve! Unbelieveable! But I am very happy this year is almost over. 2008 was very long and crazy. Tomorrow should be fun. I'm going to an eighties themed New Year's Eve party, so of course I got excited about all the eighties attire. I got some awesome white sunglasses...can overdo the whole Corey Hart "I wear my sunglasses at night, so I can so I can..." :-) I'm still undecided on my hairdo...whether I should poof, tease, or crimp. I have a hair appointment in the morning to really cut my hair. I'm thinking of just trimming it though and letting my hair continue this long route. I think my hair hasn't been this long since 1st grade. But I really need a trim, cause split ends galore and I haven't had a haircut in almost five months.
So Adam got me thinking of resolutions, I have decided on a couple so far...
  1. I'm buying a new pair of running shoes at Academy tomorrow and I plan on using them. I have been wanting to get back into running for a while just never seemed to get around to it. But I am going to force myself to get in shape again cause I'm tired of walking up the stairs and getting winded :-( And ultimately, I think a good goal is to be able to run some sort of half marathon in a couple of years or something...I'll get back to ya.
  2. Eating more healthy food might be a good thing to go along with running. I need to stop eating fast food junk. Like tonight, it was assumed I would eat with Mal and I didn't, so my mom grabbed me a quick meal from Jack. Sourdough Jack and two tacos. Now is that healthy? OF COURSE NOT! I need to scratch that from my diet, cause I do like veggies and such. I need to take snacks to work too like carrots and such. Which brings me to my next...
  3. I need to get my @$$ into gear and get my teacher certification and see if I can get back to school to get my Masters. I was so close to going back in August 2007, but of course, a boy got in the way. I could be almost done with that if I would have made up my mind and stayed put. And then the whole Pan Am social work thing was a waste, all my work went down the drain. I was an interview away and then the boy decided to change his mind. Must have been a blessing in disguise. Man, I need to focus on me...

I think that's all for now...hopefully I can keep those.

I need to get to sleep...see ya next year! :-) yeah, yeah I know so cheeeeeesy.

10 things

I found this recently and I thought I should share...

Top 10 ways to charm a woman

Be aware. This means cracking open more than the sports section on the daily paper. Be up on current events and learn the difference between feelings, emotions and thoughts. Women are emotional beings and tend to think things through. They are attracted to men who are as smart or smarter than them, and your knowledge of worldly matters will demonstrate your intelligence.

Demonstrate humor. Women love a man who can make them laugh. Now don't fret here if you're not a stand-up comedian. We all have a certain type of humor. You can be dry, sarcastic, hilariously funny, quick-witted or dark. Being able to poke fun at yourself and just plain old being goofy is a turn-on for women. Keep in mind that all women are not attracted to the same type of humor.

Have passion.A guy who lives his life with gusto is incredibly appealing. When you speak to a woman about your life, your travels, your job, your interests, speak with passion. That passion about who you are will turn her on instantly. She will start to imagine what it will be like when you are involved with her and how passionate you will speak about her.

Be considerate. Pay attention to the little things and look for opportunities to make small gestures that show you care. A simple "How was your day?" and being able to listen to her when she wants to discuss something are huge. So many men forget about simple things like holding the door, just "thanking" her for a great time last night. Women are all about a guy with manners -- she is not attracted to the dope who acts like a caveman.

Be honest. Share who you are by telling her something personal. Maybe share one of your favorite childhood memories or some personal growth that you have been going through. Something that will show her that you are a trusting and honest person. It also shows that you are a confident but vulnerable man. Women love to see the vulnerable side of you.

Be flexible. Be open to her plans but surprise her with your flexibility. Take charge and surprise her with a fun night out. Instead of being the typical guy who makes a reservation, think about how you can be the guy who listens to her and plans a great date that she did not expect. If you can pull this off, she will be open to all sorts of advances from you.

Be positive. If you are positive about life, it shows in your actions. I always tell men to be extra nice to waiters, bartenders and other service people. Be a courteous driver when she's in the car. When you are in line at the movies, don't complain. Look for the humor and try to have fun with people all around you. Be positive about everything, and she will find you to be very sexy and alluring. No one wants to be with a negative hothead.

Be balanced. Women love a successful, ambitious man. They love that you work hard, but if you constantly put work ahead of her she will become turned off. She will start to imagine what life with you will be like with her needs being ignored. If you are out meeting women to date, you need to balance your life between work and play. This will be a major turn-on for her.

Have ambition. Men who are ambitious about what they do are a turn-on to women. It doesn't matter if you choose to be a rich stock trader or a painter, as long as you are passionate about who you are and what you do. If you don't love what you do, find something that really turns you on. You can't attract the woman you want with a negative ambition. Women love a man who is the best at what he does.

Be attentive. You are out with her for the very first time, and she tells you she loves a certain type of music. On the next date take her to a lounge that plays that type of music. It is all about paying attention to the details and working on your listening skills.

That is all...thank you, come again!

Come Come on the kick drum!

Friday, I went with Rosy and Cila to the museum to see the Body Worlds 2 exhibit. It was pretty much amazing. We spent a good couple of hours looking at the exhibits and would have even longer if we weren't starving. Saturday, we had girls night at Rosy's with Cila, Melisa and Mal. It was nice to have everyone together and it was so much fun. We went to Stephen and Gabe's place to play Guitar Hero. Never play drums on beginner...all kick drum. My shins were hurting afterwards. I'm not too shabby at the easy level though. Hmmm...that statement sounds awkward.
Today I woke up late for church and my head was pounding, so I decided against going. I think I'm getting sick. I have had headaches every day and my ears are popping. I actually wish I was working right now. I'm also not looking forward to New Year's Eve. Actually all the holidays this year have been blah. I'm only looking forward to it skipping to be 2009 already...so if we could fast forward to New Year's Day, that would be great! K? Thanks! 2008 was not a great year and I wish to leave it behind and move on with life. I found out a crazy amount of things, found out true friends, went through a shitload of pain and only hope it makes me super strong and cautious that I will never place myself in those situations and with those people again. There is a song that I have been listening on repeat since, um, October. It's called "You Could Be Happy" by Snow Patrol.

You could be happy and I won't know
But you weren't happy the day I watched you go
And all the things that I wished I had not said
Are played in loops 'till it's madness in my head
Is it too late to remind you how we were
But not our last days of silence, screaming, blur
Most of what I remember makes me sure
I should have stopped you from walking out the door
You could be happy, I hope you are
You made me happier than I'd been by far
Somehow everything I own smells of you
And for the tiniest moment it's all not true
Do the things that you always wanted to
Without me there to hold you back, don't think, just do
More than anything I want to see you, girl
Take a glorious bite out of the whole world

It has sort of been therapy for me, listening to the song. Just made me realize I was being strong by letting the person I love, go and do what they need to do. We both changed into different people with different needs and wants. I couldn't make him happy anymore and I finally had the realization that it was better for both of us to grow in different directions and away from each other. I know he wasn't going to do it, I had to do it. I'm glad I did because life could be very different right now. I don't regret my decisions...He was and is a person who has had a huge impact on my life. But it's the past...I have to move on. He has. And I will.
End of sappy and silly lovey dovey post. Hopefully this doesn't happen again :-)
Time to eat something...

And so this is Christmas...

Merry Christmas!
It's been a crazy year...I can't wait for 2009 to start so I can leave this one behind.
I saw the movie Yes, Man the other night at Star Cinema. First time being there and the food was not that great. But the movie was hilarious! That chick in the movie, Zooey whatever, she can hold her own with Jim Carrey. I thought she was a hoot. Anywho, it was nice to laugh alot...past couple of movies I have seen have lacked in the comedy. One movie that always keeps me laughing is A Christmas Story. Seriously, it never gets old. Did you know that the guy who made the movie Porky's made A Christmas Story. Supposedly if he hadn't been successful with the movie Porky's, A Christmas Story wouldn't have been made. Crazy huh?
Anywho, I need a nap...and then maybe a dosage of A Christmas Story.

I already want to be back at work.

I slept in today. It was so nice. SO SO SO nice! So eventhough I am not finished with Christmas shopping, I didn't feel like dealing with it today. Just bummed around and watched movies.
I spent the evening with the whole family, my brother came over to eat dinner and it was too much family time already. My brother just gets on my nerves and I try really hard especially since its the holidays. Tonight, I went with the "Cobbler Gobbler" to see Four Christmases. It was alright, sometimes it was funny and other times, eh, not so much. Vince Vaughn was very cute though...just makes me laugh too. Cute and funny, ah the dream dude! haha
Time for sleep...shopping with Ash tomorrow. Such a good and bad thing :-(

Lazy Sunday...

Go ahead...sing the rest!

Graduation took forever and it was crowded and apparently they didn't believe in air conditioning cause it was as hot as hell. But after 3 1/2 hours, it was over and then we went to dinner with Ashley's family at Olive Garden, which I had had the night before with the "Donut Destroyer", I don't refuse food especially not wannabe Italian food. I didn't get home till midnight, but well worth it. Saturday, I finally got to sleep in. I haven't slept in in about three weeks. I woke up around nine-ish and just watched movies and ate breakfast. Off to Ashley's graduation party, where I was pounded with questions of how I was doing, where I was working, how were my parents, are you engaged, do you have a bf, do I have kids, blah, blah , blah. After all that, I went to Mal's apartment to hang out and then met up with Rosy to get some shopping done. I went to sleep pretty early considering I slept in today, but I was awoken by Lily, howling at the moon or whatever. So it took me forever to go back to sleep after putting her inside and I almost didn't feel like going to church this morning. But I dragged myself out of bed. I went by myself because my mom was feeling sick so it was a little weird, didn't really have anyone to talk to. The lady in front of me was singing very loudly and it was off key which I understand happens since we aren't a choir but being so loud doesn't help. I didn't really like the sermon today either...kept talking about "aguas fiestas", this phrase about not being the person who puts a damper on the festivities, pretty much don't be a Debbie Downer. I'm so used to going to Monterey House after church...I feel deprived of my Mexican food right now.
By the way, I love the cold weather! I still need to go to Academy to get a gift card for my pops as his other gift. I feel like I'm so broke already though after paying car payments, Sallie Freakin' Mae, and gifts galore! I don't get paid till the middle of January :-(
Oh yeah! Today is my grandma's 88th birthday!! 8-8! 88! EIGHTY EIGHT! Crazy stuff...she's amazing and I hope she stays healthy and happy! Hope I get to see her soon.
Anyways, I still haven't eaten which is amazing because I have been starving all day. Gonna make some chalupas and eat. Have a lovely Sunday!

Schooooool's out for....Christmas!

I wish it was out forever...if only I was Alice Cooper...or not.
The kiddos had early dismissal today and I was extremely happy because that meant Christmas programs, watched A Christmas Story where I proceeded to laugh my hiney off (Show me how the piggy eats) and we watched some Mickey Mouse Christmas Special, I made stockings with the kids' names on them and put some candy in them, got some awesome presents from the coworkers, AND the school gaves us Johnny Tamale's for lunch. Not too shabby.
Ashley's graduation is tonight so I need to leave in an hour or so. I hope traffic isn't bad, because my road rage management skills are currently, um, non-existent! I'm so sick of dealing with all the idiots on the road from all the holiday shopping. And my head is killing me...I think from the sugar high I got at work. Now I have to go sit for a couple of hours and hear "Pomp and Circumstance" as my best friend graduates...I guess I don't mind :-)
I think I have some run on sentences here...but I'm no English major...and really I could care less :-)

So tired...

Work went pretty well today...mostly did arts and crafts with the kiddos and some life skills stuff. I jetted out of there at 4 and went shopping with my mom to get some gifts at JCPenney. Finally found something I think my dad might like...so hard shopping for that man! I bought some candles for two of my coworkers that I like more than the others. HA! I wanted to go to Hallmark but as we walked out of the store, it was super foggy and icky. People were already driving crazy, so I decided to miss out on that fun :-) But we didn't head home, we went to eat sushi. Of course, when I say I'm buying dinner, my brother decides he wants like 30 dollars worth of rolls to go. What a donkey!
After dinner, we went home to take the food then we went to see Walter and stayed for almost two hours just chatting with him and Barbara. He is definitely funny and loves to talk...alot!
Then off to Walgreens were I managed to spend 24 dollars on stockings for the kiddos!! I still need to get some candy to put in there...but there are two kids that can't eat candy, so I'm not sure what to get them instead. HMMMMMM I need to look around...and I don't want to. I'm so tired of shopping. I finally finished Christmas cards...one less thing to worry about. Anywho, I didn't get home till 930 tonight...I'm so tired. But like that I'm so tired, I want to sleep but I can't sleep sleepy, you know? No? tough crowd. Last night, I had that "I blinked and it was morning" sleep. I *&*!&#^ hate that! Felt like I didn't sleep at all :-(
Will not happen tonight!
Good night sweetheart, well it's time to goooooo...
I feel like I overdid the ellipses DOT DOT DOT

Someone shoot me!

First, I had Livejournal.
Then, I got Xanga...well, because Jeff made it for me.
Now, this.
How did I get sucked into this mess?
Let's see how this goes...
Alright, I'm currently listening to Ani DiFranco's "32 flavors". Quite the song. I love the line, "Cause someday you're going to get hungry and eat most of the words you just said"
Oh yes, that makes me smile. Such simple things. I really should be asleep already but I'm watching Discovery Health. I love watching Mystery Diagnosis for some strange unknown reason. My left eye feels bruised which is weird because I have no recollection of hurting it. Like today, I carelessly got excited and threw my hands up...into my dresser!! So I have a bruise on my left hand. See, I remember things.
Anywho, I don't feel completely in the Christmas spirit this year. For the past couple of years, I have gone somewhere else for Christmas and it has been great. This year just seems kind of blah and I'm going to be off for two weeks too. Which brings me to Christmas presents...ugh!! Hold on let me stress this...UUUUUUGHHHHHH!!!!! Yesterday, alone, I almost got into three accidents because people are driving like bats out of hell zipping through parking lots, running stop signs and then conveniently pulling out onto the Beltway in front of me going 20 mph. Good job, idiots! *rolls eyes* I have a couple more gifts to get also, so back into the madness I go. I still need to get my dad something because Home Depot decided to run out of what he wanted and Ashley graduates on Friday so I need to get a gift. I just got candy, cookies and cards for my coworkers, just put them in some decorative tins. I'm in no mood to be extremely creative right now. Just.not.in.the.mood. If we happen to get snow twice in one year, I might...just might. I shouldn't be greedy but it would be a definite mood booster. You think about that, Nature!

I feel like I overdid the commas in this post.
And I feel sleepy...ZzZzZzZzZzZzZ
